Louise feels that being a teaching staff Governor ensures that she has an integral role in ensuring all children receive the best possible education.
Louise has taught every primary age phase and is now back in Early Years where her career began back in 1997. Louise believes that Early Years is an absolute privilege to be part of as the children’s progress is rapid.
Throughout Louise's career, she has been a phase leader (KS1) and led many subjects: RE, history, geography, maths and science. Louise completed a master’s in ‘Teaching Primary Mathematics’ in 2013 which led on to being part of a Government Maths committee. After leading two schools to the gold level Primary Science Quality Mark, Louise was awarded the Primary Science Teaching Trust, Teacher of the Year Award in 2013 and became a valued fellow, writing for science and education journals and supporting teachers in the North East. She then went on to receive the Enthuse Celebration Award, a national award which recognises teachers who have gone the extra mile to inspire their students, develop their professional practice.
Louise is married with three children: twin boys and a girl, all in their hit teenage years. In her spare time Louise enjoys trips to the gym to work off the extra calories from the home baking she enjoys!
