Why Sacriston Academy nursery?
Our setting provides the very best for all children - excellence every day!
Judged ‘OUTSTANDING’ in our recent Ofsted inspection (October 2021) and shortlisted for the TES Early Years Setting of the Year 2022, Sacriston Academy Nursery is an excellent place for your child to start their learning journey.
Placing your child in our nursery enables them to become familiar with their environment and the staff members in it. It enables your child to make early friendships as well as allowing staff having develop an in-depth knowledge of their talents, abilities and any areas of need. This extra attention makes transition into primary school seamless.
The benefits of a teacher-led nursery
Did you know that a young child's education journey starts a long time before their reception year? We offer an education-based nursery setting with a qualified teacher who provides a stimulating and challenging learning environment. Each child has their own key worker who provides engaging and fun activities, ensuring children are excited and ready for learning from the moment they enter our doors.
Teaching within our nursery focuses heavily on vocabulary and storytelling - all children should be hearing thousands of words every day in order to aid their early writing skills. We have a weekly text, both fiction and nonfiction, with key words being a focus. Our provision is themed around the story to ensure we offer enticing and engaging learning, focussing on developing those key early skills. We also teach letters through a fantastic early reading programme called Read, Write Inc, which gives them a fantastic head start for their reception year.
